ARMA III has been out for a while now, and I like it quite a bit. The game plays well, it’s incredibly deep, and there’s already been a lot of potential shown in the game’s modding community. But in its current state, I don’t feel comfortable giving it a proper review. It feels as if the game is still in Beta. There is no Bohemia-made singleplayer content outside of the showcases (that were created for trade shows like E3) and a few training levels. On top of that, most every multiplayer servers is unplayably laggy. But three free campaign episodes will be available for download in the coming weeks, and some optimization for multiplayer should be coming as well. I’ve played quite a number of great user-created scenarios for the game, but before I pass final judgment I need to see what Bohemia puts out.
