Rather than just calling it “Grand Theft Auto V Multiplayer”, Rockstar is dubbing the multiplayer component of their upcoming game “Grand Theft Auto: Online”. Rather than just a thrown-in multiplayer component set in a stripped-down version of the world. Rockstar is attempting to deliever the whole Grand Theft Auto experience in a multiplayer environment. Grand Theft Auto: Online will offer many, if not all of the V’s mini-games and activities, and will have a whole set of co-op missions, and various heists. Grand Theft Auto: Online will come with each purchase of V, but will not be playable until October 1st, a few weeks after the core game’s release.
Grand Theft Auto V is set to release on Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 17th of this year. It has not been officially announced, but there are also a fair amount of believable leaks pointing toward the possibility of a PC release.
