After countless rumors circulated around what the next Call of Duty title would be, Activision and Infinity Ward have officially announced the title of their latest collaboration. Call of duty Ghosts
According to this morning’s press release, the game will (much to my surprise) be running on a brand-new engine created by none other than Infinity Ward. “”Everyone was expecting us to make Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the safe thing to do. But we’re not resting on our laurels…” said Mark Rubin in the press release. The game will feature a new story, new characters. And supposedly, a hefty amount of changes to the game’s multiplayer.
Here’s the teaser trailer:
The “Next Generation of Call of Duty” is set to release on November 5th. Players will be given their first look at Microsoft’s conference on May 21st.
It was pretty surprising for me to see players getting a fully next-gen Call of Duty so early. I had expected ports of the current generation ones. But it looks like the opposite will be happening. From what it sounds like, the game is being built for next-gen, but along with the press release box art for PC, Xbox 360 and Ps3 was shown.
I guess we’ll have to wait for the 21st to get much more information. We’ll update if anything more is released.
