Remember that weird game with the crawling, the shooting, and the helicopter eating fire-whale? You know, The Phantom Pain. That game by the oddly unheard of Moby Dick Studio. It turns out, all signs are pointing to that being some sort of hype-generator for the next Metal Gear. I thought it was odd that we didn’t see any of the recently revealed Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeros. But if this NeoGaf thread is correct, we may have seen Ground Zeros without realizing it.
As you can see in the header image above, there is a scar on who (presumably) is the protagonist of The Phantom Pain. This scar coincidentally matches up with a scar on Big Boss’ face in the Ground Zeros reveal trailer. If that “coincidence” isn’t strange enough, the CEO of the studio’s name is Joakim Mogren. Joakim is a anagram for Kojima. Hideo Kojima is the head of the Metal Gear Solid Series.
Check out the thread for more information. I have a funny feeling this may end up being true. This trailer was far too bizarre to kick off an event as big as the VGAs, and there was little-to-no talk of it. And man, the beginning looked a whole lot like it was rendered with the new Fox Engine.
We’ll keep you guys updated if the story develops any further.
